Theory

Introduction to biochemical diagnostics; Metabolic syndrome; Disorders of carbohydrate metabolism and diagnosis; Disorders of lipid metabolism and diagnosis; Disorders of amino acid and protein metabolism and diagnosis; Enzymes of clinical significance; Biochemical assessment of renal, cardiac, gastrointestinal and liver function; Blood gases related disorders and diagnosis; Blood preservation and transfusion; Blood group systems and compatibility testing; Blood transfusion reactions; Hematopoiesis; Introduction to antigens and antibodies; Diagnostic applications of antigens and antibodies; Biochemistry of urine in different diseases; Body fluids and significance in diagnosis: Cerebrospinal fluid, seminal, synovial, amniotic, fecal, feces, pleural, pericardial and peritoneal; Radioimmunoassays; Molecular diagnostic techniques: PCR based diagnosis of infectious diseases; Introduction to forensic analysis: DNA finger printing; Industrial/concerned organization visit.
